Where does the strawberry margarita come from?
Margaritas are classics from Mexico. Their base ingredient is tequila, which makes them one of the most famous tequila drinks.
It is said that the Mexican bartender Carlos Herrera developed the cocktail in his bar in the late 1930s. But there are other stories that also revolve around the making of the margarita.

Tips for the perfect strawberry margarita
The choice of tequila is purely a matter of preference. However, it would be best to use a high-quality tequila made from 100% agave. The exquisite aromas help to make the flavor even more intense.
Freshly squeezed lime juice is better than bottled juice, in this case. The freshness ensures an authentic taste.
You can also leave out all the sweeteners if that’s too much for you. Ripe strawberries usually have enough sweetness on their own.
The drink should be served cold. This way it will successfully refresh you on hot summer days. It also tastes better when cold.
Frequently asked questions about the strawberry margarita
Why do you use a margarita glass?
It is ideal for sugar rims. A margarita glass has enough space on the outside to attach the sugar to.
Can you still decorate the cocktail?
Yes, you can. You can stick half a strawberry on the rim of the glass to match the ones in the drink. But the decoration comes at the expense of the sugar rim.
Do I have to pre-cool the ingredients?
It doesn’t hurt to pre-cool all the ingredients, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Some, of course, need to be kept cool like ice. Others can be left unrefrigerated. The added ice automatically cools down the drink.
